9. The Denial After the Plague (Exodus 9:34, 35) Once the plague stopped, Pharaoh recanted his change. • The prediction of the denial. “As the LORD had spoken by Moses” (Exodus 9:35). The Divine Word of God predicted that Pharaoh would recant (Exodus 9:30). And the Word of God is always right. • The pattern for the denial. Typical of Pharaoh, he cries for help when in trouble, but when help comes, he goes back to his sinful ways. Many folk still do that today. Sick bed vows are not reliable vows.
